Fascists also care a lot about health and safety
Watching the police break up protests throughout the US due to concerns about health and safety is making my blood boil. The First Amendment doesn’t contain provisions that limit freedom of speech on the basis these concerns (except when people use freedom of speech to deliberately call for harming others or to put others in harm’s way). It reminds me of the South African Government under Apartheid. They often cited concerns for health and safety when they wanted to bulldoze the neighborhoods of Africans who didn’t sufficiently appreciate the benefits of the Apartheid system.

No American left = f(no feudal past). Right?
I think that refers to Socialism, not the left as a broad concept. For example, there were lots of protests in the 1960s on the left. Today few people seem to care that the police beat up hippies for no good reason. This is the scary part for me.
Agreed Barak, in all I find the response to the protests disappointing but not surprising, I honestly expect these behaviors from any challenged authority. What I am surprised by is the media and public response to the violence. There are some things I thought we as a nation had moved beyond and were decidedly not willing to accept anymore, this past week or so has shown me that I was obviously wrong.
I know. Very sad. It happened again today in LA. Protestors are supposed to be a nuisance – that’s the point. Breaking up protests because they are disruptive essentially means people can’t protest – a very un-American position. I hope someone files a lawsuit over the issue.
