I am is a second-year student in Georgetown’s Democracy and Governance program, currently deployed as a U.S. Army Reserve Civil Affairs Specialist with Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa.  My previous Army deployment was as a humanitarian assistance/projects coordinator on a Provincial Reconstruction Team in Ghazni, Afghanistan.  Prior to enlisting, I received my B.A. from Vassar College in Political Science and Russian Studies.

Founded in 2004, Democracy and Society is a biannual print journal published by the Center for Democracy and Civil Society at Georgetown University. The D&S Blog provides web-only content, including special reports and investigative series, on issues relating to democracy and development.
