David

I am an election and electoral systems specialist working at an international democracy assistance organization based in Washington, D.C.  Prior to this, I was a Research Coordinator at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), where I supported IFES’ programs through public opinion surveys, program evaluation, and technical leadership initiatives.

Before living in Washington, I worked as a media consultant in Cairo, Egypt, and a Democratic campaign consultant in Raleigh, North Carolina. My focus is on electoral systems, democratic transitions, political parties, and the Middle East. I hold an M.A. in Democracy and Governance from Georgetown University and a B.A. in political science from North Carolina State University.  I also blog at ahwtalk.com.

Founded in 2004, Democracy and Society is a biannual print journal published by the Center for Democracy and Civil Society at Georgetown University. The D&S Blog provides web-only content, including special reports and investigative series, on issues relating to democracy and development.
