Genève

I am a second year student in the Democracy and Governance program at Georgetown University and also a Research Assistant in the Center of Innovation for Science, Technology, and Peacebuilding at the United States Institute of Peace.

Before joining USIP, I co-founded the Center for Kirkuk Referendum Operations, an information portal dedicated to addressing political and demographic risks in the Kirkuk region of northern Iraq. I also spent a year as a Research Assistant with the American-Kuwaiti Alliance, a bilateral Gulf lobbying group within Patton Boggs. During the 2008 campaign season I worked as a Field Organizer for a U.S. Congressional and Senate campaign and subsequent runoff election.

I am interested in technology and new media, internet freedom, geopolitical forecasting, and next-generation governance, both international and domestic. I also have academic and professional experience with the Middle East and North Africa. I graduated from Georgetown University in 2010 with a degree in Government and a minor in Arabic.

Founded in 2004, Democracy and Society is a biannual print journal published by the Center for Democracy and Civil Society at Georgetown University. The D&S Blog provides web-only content, including special reports and investigative series, on issues relating to democracy and development.
